You can now send your letters of complaint following the directions I gave you in class this morning.

As I told you in class, I’m going to suggest a topic for discussion and you’re going to send your comments. Remember you can reply not only to me, but also to your classmates!

The topic is: A HEALTHY LIFE IS A BORING LIFE. Don’t you think it’s much better to enjoy the pleasures of life (eating anything you like, smoking, drinking…) than spending all your life controlling everything you do in case it’s not good for your health? Aren`t you tired of miraculous diets, bio products,etc, etc?        

• Zero conditional
• First conditional
• Second conditional
• Third conditional

*Now do these two activities:

1. exercise with mixed conditionals
2. the three types

*I hope you enjoy reading this peculiar poem using conditional sentences.

*Listen to a reporter asking people in the street “What would you do if…..?”.

*There are many songs where conditional sentences are used. One of the most famous is If I were a rich man from the film Fiddler on the roof. I’ve found this video with subtitles. Enjoy it.

*There’s a TV series that has become quite popular. It’s called The Big Bang Theory. Watch a few extracts where the second conditional is used. It’s a bit difficult, but the main sentences are subtitled.

If you still haven’t seen Avatar (like me…) you can at least watch the trailer and do a short quiz.
